And those adorable pictures of that sweet little puppy devouring my money?
Ah yes...way back in March of this year when I caught Saffron eating a $5 bill. Back when I was naïve enough to think that I could take that $5 to the bank and they'd give me a new one, but later discovered none of our local banks will trade out damaged currency.
It's true what they say about puppyhood. Sometimes you can barely remember the fat, fluffy little blob you could hold in your arms and sometimes their antics make it feel like it all happened yesterday.
…sniff...
Oh wait - it did happen yesterday.
Early yesterday morning I saw Saffie hiding under the sofa table looking especially guilty. That IS her normal look so I don't always give it a second thought. But yesterday I saw something hanging out of her mouth and again I had the "phew - it's just a kleenex/paper towel/piece of paper" thought before noticing the familiar color and shape of it.
DAMMIT - She ate ANOTHER $5 bill.
She is now officially worth $10. Although on mornings like that, it's highly debatable.

What is it with dogs that eat money? My Mother had a Pom years ago that would open her purse and steal money from her wallet any chance she got. LOL
On a side note- EG- really - that picture is somewhat disturbing. I think I'm glad I cna't make it out entirely!
Good thing she's cute it could get expensive!

She is huge! It is a good thing you carry small bills missy- my SIL had the bank trade out a large bill that her yellow lab ate (and ahem, processed). I believe it was a partial bill recovery, lol, but enough of it to get a new one. What is wrong with this country when even the bank won't take money? Bad Saffie, bad!
ROFLOL poor Saffie always getting the blame. She is thinking WHAT? I found this money and besides that it was already chewed up and I was bringing it to you. AND remember that Finders Keepers Losers Weepers thing.
My sons dog would take the mail (ALL those righteous BILLS.... you know the ones you are suppose to PAY) right off the table and chew them up.
I would start puting your purse up on a high self.
lol I must say if she only eats $10 she is such a cheap dog.
At least she's just cutting out the middleman instead of going for the shoes, or the door and window trim like my dog...
I have to agree with Rachel! I think she's doing you a favor by just eating the money instead of demolishing something more expensive. Maybe you should start carrying Monopoly money!
Well at least she kept you from buying something you'd just have to dust later.
How is she getting in your purse? lol
I think the problem is that you just have too much dang money sitting around the house waiting for a big, beautiful dog to chomp on it. lol
