Quote of the Moment
"There is no gardening without humility. Nature is constantly sending even its oldest scholars to the bottom of the class for some egregious blunder." ~Alfred Austin, 1951
What a doll! Our Dane just jumps up and stares at our neighbors over the 6 foot wooden fence. Sometimes when they have parties they'll say they feel uncomfortable with him just staring at them.
We're a family of four living in semi-rural Central Florida (Zone 9b) with a brand new square foot garden. We used to have a 468 square foot vegetable garden, but it was a wash out - literally. I'm Kate and I have a devastating case of black thumb. We had originally planned on growing a magnificent vegetable garden so we could rely less on the grocery store produce aisle and more on ourselves, but so far the green thumb remains elusive. We'll continue to plant with the hopes that eventually we'll learn enough to make this unskilled gardening gig worthwhile. Until then this blog will feature a mix of gardening exploits, kid crafts & learning, living green, raising a small flock of urban chickens, and life in Central Florida.

OMG, what a great photo! Ha!
LOL! Just like our neighbor dog, Bandit, only about 100 times bigger.

What a fantastic photo. Seriously, you should put together a package of 5-10 of your dog pictures as notecards. People would snap them up!
Great dog, great photo. Looks like a good one for a caption contest.
Kate, you can expect to recieve a little white box either on Thursday or Friday....
I agree with Stefaneener...this photo belongs on the front of a greeting card, as do so many of your photos.
My verification word is "unleake"...is there some part of this word that describes why Toby was trying to get to your green grass?
